1. Put the rice in a pan and rinse and then drain off water
  2. Boil kettle and pour water over the rice ensuring it is fully covered and there is at least 50% more water than rice.
  3. Add the bay leaves and salt
  4. Bring back to the boil and turn the heat down. Allow to simmer for around 15 mins until the rice is soft.
  5. Test by chewing the rice. If soft and chewy then it is cooked.  If not cooked add more boiling water and continue to boil until cooked.
  6. Take off the heat,drain and serve.
